Guest Information

Welcome to Wainui Bush Retreat! We want your stay to be comfortable, relaxing, and safe. Below you’ll find helpful details and a few common-sense guidelines to ensure everyone has a great experience.

Arrival & Check-In

Self Check-In: We offer a self check-in process for convenience. You’ll receive instructions through Airbnb or Booking.com once your booking is confirmed. If you prefer a personal greeting or need assistance, simply let us know in advance.

Directions & Navigation: Because cell reception can be limited in our area, we recommend saving directions to your phone or printing them before you leave home. Look for our house number in big red numbers at our gate.

House Policies & Guidelines

  • Quiet Hours: We request that guests keep noise to a minimum between 11:00 PM and 6:00 AM.
  • No Smoking Indoors: Smoking is not permitted inside any part of the retreat. Feel free to use outdoor areas; just dispose of cigarette butts responsibly and do not leave them on the grass.
  • Shared Shower Facility: While each of us has our own bathroom, we do share a shower facility with guests. Please keep it tidy for everyone’s comfort.
  • Limited Cell Reception: You may not have cell service on the property. We do have Wi-Fi and a phone available for emergency communications.
  • Respect Our Animals: We have three large senior dogs , a teenage puppy and two cats. They’re contained in a separate area, but if you encounter them, please approach gently & if you would like to say hello we can arrange that too 🙂

Internet & Communication

Our property has Wi-Fi for your convenience—though we do encourage guests to unplug and enjoy nature. For emergencies or important calls, a alternative phone option is available, please just ask us. If you have trouble connecting, feel free to let us know.

Outdoor Areas & Safety

Wainui Bush Retreat is nestled in a tranquil valley, surrounded by native bush. While we encourage you to relax in the space, in order to respect the native wildlife, please do not go exploring – the terrain is difficult and not yet marked out with paths.

Use the covered outdoor cooking area responsibly: watch for hot surfaces and always ensure the grill or stove is turned off when not in use. Please also turn off the power to the lights & TV when not in use.

Rubbish & Recycling

We care about the environment and kindly ask guests to dispose of waste properly. You’ll find clearly labeled bins for rubbish and recycling in the outdoor area. If you have food scraps, feel free to leave them in the bin provided, our worms will appreciate them.

Emergencies

If you have an urgent issue or concern, please message us using your booking app or knock on our door.
In a medical or fire emergency, dial 111 and provide the address or location details. Rest assured, we’re here to help

Check-Out Process

Please follow these simple steps before you depart:

  • Clear Personal Items: Check all drawers and cupboards, and the outdoor area to make sure you haven’t left anything behind.
  • Tidy Up: Leave the bathroom and common areas as you found them. We appreciate a quick rinse of dishes if you used them.
  • Secure the Property: Make sure doors and windows are closed and locked, especially if you’re leaving early in the morning. Leave the key in the lockbox and close the main property gate behind you.

We hope you had a restful stay, and we look forward to hosting you again soon!
